The Harry Potter book tag

Who can resist a tag with Harry Potter in the title? Certainly not me! I was tagged by driftinglexi. She runs a make up and book blog. (Check out her nail gallery. OMG, people. HP nails!!)

Flagrate: A book that you found interesting that you would like to rewrite.

Two came to mind for this and the reasons for both are the same, they’re too short. Both have interesting worldbuilding done, but it only scratches the surface and I would love to delve in deeper.

The books: The Logan series by William F. Nolan and The time machine by H. G. Wells

Alohomora: The first book in a series which got you hooked.

Oh, wow, this is a tricky one. I’m trying to think of some series that I’ve read recently. Oh! I KNOW! Rosemary and rue by Seanan McGuire. (How could I forget? I’m reading the second one right now!)

It was the first urban fantasy book I’ve read and I LOVED it! Such a great cast of characters and loads of mystery leaving you desperate for the next one.

Accio: A book you wish you could have right now.

I always find it incredibly difficult to hunt down upcoming releases, but one release I’m really looking forward to is… Infernal ties by Holly Evans. It’s urban fantasy.

Holly is an indie Author who has a blog on here that I follow. I’ve read a few of her writing snippets and they are amazing, not only that, they’re first drafts. UNEDITED. Can you imagine what a polished book will be like?! Ugh, can’t wait.

Avada Kedavra: A killer book.

HAH, there’s only one choice for this. Not only did it blow me away, but yeah, loooots of death. I will forever be sad that this Author hasn’t wrote anything else.

Confundo: A book you find confusing.

The book I’m choosing is most likely going against the crowd. I never got over the sudden switch of style and theme from the first book. *PHWOOSH* You hear that? It’s all the subtext from the last two books flying over my head.

The last star by Rick Yancey

Expecto Patronum: Your spirit animal book.

Hmm, this is super hard. I don’t really identify with books in this way. (Particularly the kind I read.)

The wee free men by Terry Pratchett

I remember being incredibly moved by this book, (I.E. Bawling my eyes out). I can’t pinpoint what it is, but I felt so connected to the main character, Tiffany. Not exactly spirit animal, but the best I can do.

Sectumsempra: A dark, twisted book.

I knew immediately which book to choose. It was less the plot and an insight into what alcohol can do to a person that I found truly dark.

The girl on the train by Paula Hawkins

Apparecium: A book that surprised you in a great way.

I had to think about this one too. (I forget what I’ve read!) Ah, last year, I read a book by an indie author. I remember reading the blurb and loving it and took a chance. It was short, (MAJOR shame), but I remember thinking, “Wow, this is really good!” I’m still sad by how short it is. I’d love for it to be lengthened into a full novel.

A broken race by Jean Davis

Phew, that was hard, but fun! I tag:

Vicky @ booksandstrips (When don’t I?)

Kat @ Perks of being a booknerd

*Clicking on the images takes you to their book depository page, (except Infernal ties by Holly Evans and A broken race by Jean Davis as they’re indie authors.) See here for more info.

Oh I loved Rosemary and Rue!! This series is amazing. I am looking forward to reading The Last Star but I am sad you found the book confusing.. I hope it turns out ok.

Infinite Sea confused me some and kind of threw me. I almost feel like I need to give that book a second read to get a better handle over it.

The third book is pretty much the same, a little more action, but still confusing. Do you plan to finish the series?

I do, I have the book from the library but I just need time to read it. Overall, were you happy with the series?

No, I wasn’t. I’d say if you didn’t enjoy the second book then you wouldn’t enjoy the last. The ending is good, but if you don’t care about the characters or feel like you need to slog through the book then it isn’t worth it. (P.S. Do you have a blog? Your link says it’s deleted.)

Yeah, your link is outdated. Click on your profile image in the top right and you should be able to sort it out. 🙂

I did that but I am not able to figure see how it is outdated. My blog doesn’t need renewed until Dec.

It’s because the .wordpress is in it. Your blog doesn’t have that in the URL, does it?

I usually find time for tags because they’re a nice bit of fun 😀 This one looks really hard though lol

I have an answer for that one, and the first in a series one, otherwise I’m a bit stumped lol

I agree with you on The Time Machine! Too short sadly and so much that could be explored. The Girl on the Train seems to be picking up, especially with the movie coming out soon.
And you can never go wrong with some Pratchett haha
