Bridge of spies film review

UK release date: 26/11/15

Runtime: 141 minutes

Directed by: Steven Spielberg

Starring: Tom Hanks, Mark Rylance, Amy Ryan, Alan Alda

If the entire film had been dull and boring, it still would’ve been worth it for the ending. Fortunately, this is a brilliantly made film.

The pace of the well told story is excellent. They don’t try to embellish or add big explosions or any other cliche. It is what is. And that is beautiful.

Even if you’re someone who loves tense chase scenes and big explosions, I’d still recommend this film.

Tom Hanks is as remarkable as expected, but, for me, it’s Mark Rylance who shines in this film. It has a strong thought provoking message through it.

There are so many small touches in this film. It’s subtle and guides you gracefully through the story. You’ll leave the cinema quite and in thought and perhaps with tears in your eyes.

Dad’s opinion: Best film I’ve seen this year and in a long time. 6/6

To sum up, well made, amazing story, great acting

Was it worth the watch? Yes

Would I re-watch? Yes

Stars: 5/6

Oh man. I’ve had to keep passing this one up in favour of whatever is new and in the moment, but I really regret it.
