Horror week! The bone collector film review

This our fourth film for horror week!

Ok, I’ll admit, this is more thriller than horror, but there’s some scary stuff in this film so it counts. Sssh! I don’t want to hear your counter argument.

The bone collector is based on the book of the same name by Jeffery Deaver, which I haven’t read. But! This is the kind of film that makes me want to read the book.

I love how the film starts. You see multiple viewpoints as you wonder how they’ll all eventually connect. The setting up is quick and enjoyable.

You don’t want to miss a second of the film because each moment is important so be sure to use the toilet before it starts! It’s like being on a rollercoaster that gets faster and faster and, in the distance, you can see a great big loop, which isn’t even the end! Because, trust me, you’ll never see that ending coming.

And even after finding out the mystery, this film would still be enjoyable to watch again.

This has to be one of my favourite Angelina Jolie films. She plays a strong woman (and I love her hair.)

The interactions between the characters are so enjoyable to watch. Denzel Washington’s quips and snark is on point and I really love his character Lincoln Rhyme. In fact, I don’t think there’s one I dislike, even the ones you’re meant to.

Despite being sixteen years old, this film still feels new and is a great watch.

To sum up, great characters, great acting, fantastic mystery

Was it worth the watch? Yes

Would I re-watch? Yes

Stars: 5/6
